Autumn 2024 Term
Course Overview

Led by BU lecturer, Hywel Dix, this eight-week course will explore the art of creative writing.
Each session will introduce you to different types of writing. Whether it’s
through journalling, letter writing or story telling we offer a supportive space for you to explore your own creativity and self-expression.
This approach will give you the tools to explore your own thoughts, feelings and experiences of daily life.
What to Expect

Taught in a classroom at the University campus, this course will encourage you to write at your own pace and find your own voice.
Some weeks there may be reading or writing tasks suggested to prepare for the class.
There will be opportunities to share your work and feedback on others
When, Where & What to Bring

- 8 Week Course starting 24th September

Support

CoCreate sessions are designed to be safe and supportive spaces, that allow you the freedom to do your best work.
Our courses are suitable for all levels of experience, and we welcome complete beginners.
When you sign up you’ll be asked if there’s anything you might need access support with, this could include physical access (lifts, wheel chair access, etc) or other things like help with writing, large print, or more time to process information. We send reminder texts on the day to everyone.
You don’t have to tell us anything you don’t want to share, and we’re always happy to talk about how we can support you at any point in the course.
It’s how you feel
“Being creative gives me an opportunity to be totally absorbed in a task and new tools to access this focused state are always appreciated.”
“I learnt that I did not have to sit down to write for hours at a time in order to produce something meaningful.”
